I shot a small wedding at Treekah’s Hideaway in La Horquetta, Arima recently and came away impressed. It’s one of those places that feels like someone picked a corner of the island and made it quietly beautiful — not flashy, just honest and comfortable. Perfect for couples who want an intimate wedding that still looks and feels intentional.
What I liked
- It’s truly intimate — capped at 100 people, it keeps everything close and warm. That scale makes it easy to tell the whole story in pictures: you don’t need a dozen setups to get the important moments.
- The light is forgiving. There’s enough open sky and foliage that golden hour portraits sing without needing complicated gear or staging.
- Their all-in-one approach actually works. They handle tables, chairs, DJ, décor — even photography if you want — and that means couples spend less time coordinating and more time being present.
- And the food? Surprisingly good. I’ve shot at a few “all-in-one” venues where the food is an afterthought; Treekah’s was solid — real plates, real flavour — which matters to guests and photos alike.
From a photographer’s point of view
The venue gives you clean, honest backdrops: wood, greenery, soft open sky. Those textures make editorial portraits and candid moments read well on camera. Because everything’s handled on-site, couples are relaxed — which is the single best ingredient for great pictures.
Quick tips if you’re considering it
- Aim for portraits around golden hour — the light and foliage are at their best.
- Keep décor simple: the rustic backdrop doesn’t need much. A few thoughtful florals and clean linens go a long way.
- If you book an all-in-one package, ask how they stage the space for photos (it helps to know where the DJ, buffet, and ceremony sit in advance).
If you want intimate, well-cared-for, and low-drama — Treekah’s Hideaway is worth a look. If you’re planning a wedding there, I’d love to talk about how we’d capture it — quietly, beautifully, and without fuss.
